admin JIM KUHNHENN, Associated Press Writer WASHINGTON – Barack Obama is “The Joker.” Nancy Pelosi is portrayed as Cruella De Vil, and Harry Reid as Scooby Doo — all part of a Republican Party pitch to top fundraisers. Tucked into the 72-page Power Point presentation to GOP fundraisers in Boca Raton, Fla., last month, was a direct call to use fear and reactionary sentiments toward Democrats as a fundraising strategy. “What can you sell when you do not have the White House, the House or the Senate…?” one slide asks. “Save the country from tending toward Socialism!” it replies. Political groups and parties often use highly charged language to motivate their base of voters and contributors. But the RNC document is unusual in revealing a strategy in such candid detail. Republicans tried Thursday to distance themselves from the imagery and language of the presentation, which was first reported by the Politico news Web site. Sen. John Thune, a member of the Senate Republican leadership, said: “There is no place for this. Obviously when you’re fundraising you want to make points and you want to make direct and succinct points, but using these sorts of tactics is certainly not something that any of us ought to condone.” Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele called the images inappropriate and blamed a party staffer who made a “decision to say, ‘Hey, we’ll have some fun with this, and people will laugh and joke about it.’” “Clearly it’s not something that I would …

March 12th, 2010
admin Glamour is “not just about movie stars,” says Virginia Postrel. The editor in chief of Deepglamour.net and former Editor in Chief of Reason magazine points out that glamour, which originally meant a literal magic spell “that promises to to transcend ordinary life and make the ideal real,” is especially powerful when applied to the world of politics. Reason.tv’s Ted Balaker sat down with Virginia Postrel to find out how glamour fuels voters’ expectations, which modern political figures are glamourous (Barack is, Sarah isn’t), and why glamour is both an advantage and a burden. Interview by Ted Balaker. Shot by Hawk Jensen and Paul Detrick. Edited by Paul Detrick. Music: “You Got Something” by Grayson Wray (Magnatune Records). About eight minutes. Go to reason.tv for downloabable ipod, HD and audio versions of this and all our videos. Postrel, an organ donor and cancer survivor, talks to Reason.tv about health care reform in a separate video, available at youtube.com Subscribe to Reason.tv’s youtube Channel and receive automatic notifications when new material goes live. And come back to Reason.tv March 15 through March 19 for the debut of Reason Saves Cleveland With Drew Carey: How to fix the “Mistake on The Lake” and other once-great American cities, an original six-part documentary series.

March 1st, 2010
admin America’s top race hustler, Rev. Jesse Jackson, comes to Britain to tell us about the “politics of hope”. He talks about hope over fear; substance over smear; principle and conviction; and taking the moral & ethical high-ground over gutter politics. “The empty life of this ugly little charlatan proves only one thing, that you can get away with the most extraordinary offenses to morality and to truth in this country if you will just get yourself called reverend. People like that should be out in the street, shouting and hollering with a cardboard sign and selling pencils from a cup.” [Christopher Hitchens on Jerry Falwell] The same for Jesse & Al too….

The Elite sElection of 2008 and the Status Quo
Please rate, comment and subscribe. Will America change for the better after the 2008 election or will the status quo continue with Barack Obama or John mccain? Why do politicians always promise “change” but never deliver? As the election nears, I hear a lot of people say, as long as a democrat wins, things will improve. I guess they don’t remember that we elected republican George Bush to get away from democrat Bill Clinton’s foreign interventions in the 1990s. As we continue toward the beginnings of a World War 3 like scenario, neither Barack Obama nor John mccain will slow down our military wheel that has been in motion since World War 2. Unless we stand up and fight this, the worldwide centralization of monetary and political power will continue until it’s too late to fight back. As we move toward a new world order, we must be more active in the political process and ignore the false left right paradigm or we will lose all of our freedoms.
