this is actually not that great i mean compare him to yngwie malmsteen, yngwie kicks his ass, so does steve vai
yngwie malmsteen is great yes, but in a totally different way… He plays an absolute different genre than Mark Knopfler…
How anyone could think Knopfler is not a great guitarist is beyond me. This guy has a crazy clean and crisp picking style and an incredible signature tone to match. This isn’t about other virtuosos who are all great in their own right; this is about a great performance by a great band, of a timeless classic. With that said, let the simple brained idiot children argue amongst themselves… they are on a lower level.
OMG compering steve vai and mark knopfler ?! WTH MAN are you crazy ?!?!!?? compering yngwi is crazy fast yes but NO he does not play slow and catchy stuff and he cannot and he will not play slow stuff and pretty solos ‘cuz he has his style … like Mark, like Steve Vai, like Satriani … those man make music please don’t talk bullshit about any of them they are all great and best in their style…
